Born in Vilnius, Lithuania, Golan emigrated to Israel with his parents at the age of one. His passion for chamber music was ablaze by his teacher, violinist chaim tauv. He studied piano with Lara Godoboz and Emmanuel Krasowski under the sponsorship of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation. In 1991, Golan was named professor of Manhattan College of Music as the youngest musician. Since then, he has moved to Paris and is currently living there.
